Looking for farm-fresh produce? A chance to support local growers? Or simply a way to get out of the house, meet your neighbors, and enjoy some fresh air? If you fall into any of these categories, we welcome you to join us at the North City Farmers Market, right here in San Diego County.
Our summer hours began at the end of June, which means the North City Farmers Market is currently open from 3pm until 7pm, every Tuesday. We welcome you to learn more about this beloved community event, and to join us at your next opportunity.
About the North City Market
During the farmers market, local agriculturalists bring some of their finest wares and put them up for sale, providing a great opportunity to get some fresh produce and support local farms.
But that’s not the only thing you’ll find at the North City Farmers Market. On any given Tuesday afternoon, you’ll also find a range of specialty items, including locally caught fish, locally sourced fresh meat, artisanal bakery goods, and even microgreens.
There are even some cool crafts and art pieces for sale, from some of the most skilled craftspeople in San Diego County.
Eating at the North City Market
Even if you don’t end up taking any produce or crafts home with you, you might want to stop by the North City Farmers Market just for a quick meal. There are a number of ready-made foods and food trucks that come to the market, including BBQ, tacos, smoothies, Kenyan delicacies, and dumplings.
Also note that Newtopia Cyder’s tasting room has expanded to encompass the large lawn area on our plaza. Guests can now enjoy local brews in a safe, socially distanced setting. There’s live music, too, including a wide range of local performers who show up on a rotating basis.
Supporting the Community
It goes without saying that the COVID-19 pandemic has been disruptive for all of us, and it’s hit local entrepreneurs, farmers, and small business owners especially hard. That’s one reason why we want to encourage our neighbors in the North City area to show up for the market, to support these local growers, and to invest back into the community. It matters now more than ever; plus, attending the North City Market may be a fun way to break up your routine and enjoy some time outside of your home.
Incidentally, North City is complying with all of the recommended public health practices, including required masks, social distancing, spaced outdoor dining, and touchless transactions. To learn more, we invite you to visit the North City Farmers Market website. And again, we hope to see you on a Tuesday in the near future, between the hours of 3pm and 7pm.
